This started off as a scene from the book by Joe Haldeman called the forever war, but it slowly changed as I was drawing it.....as usual. When in doubt draw tenticals! I keep forgetting how much I love painting. I think a film of it is being made at the moment.

Again! you didn't fail to impress me!
It's really cool to see how sometimes we change our minds in a painting, which can always be for the better!
I love the technique, the colors and lightning is really interesting!
I can see this as a movie by the way!

Its rare for me to keep a painting exactly how I originally imagined it, which is a little frustrating but this one worked out ok. I think Ridley Scott has landed the rights to make the forever war book into a movie, I'm not completely sure though. I'm glad you liked the painting though.

This looks awesome! Being able to see your process is very interesting and informative. Am I right in noting the character changed from male to female when the helmet was removed during painting? If that's incorrect, I got the idea because the face inside the helmet looks much more masculine than the character we see in the final version.

Yeah its a he-she.......Now that I'm thinking back to the book I think the people they were fighting were their future evolution and they became asexual so its a nod to that.....And obviously not that I couldn't work out what sex I wanted to make it, which makes more sense :D

I like the idea of an androgynous or asexual (in the reproductive sense, rather than the sexual desire sense) society. Equality :3 I always like seeing females depicted as strong, badass warriors and not somehow fighting off massive alien invasions while wearing a bikini XD Even if this person you've drawn isn't strictly female, I still like it for that reason.
